Environment Quiz in Shimla

Children are the future of the planet. To raise awareness and drive eco-consciousness amongst kids, the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board in partnership with Nimyle Eco-Friendly India Mission organised the first-ever state-level environment-themed inter-school quiz competition in Himachal Pradesh, the Himachal Enviro Quiz 2022. Nexus Consulting was involved right from the beginning in helping organise the quiz.
Stage 1: An online qualifier round was held on 20th May 2022. Over 5000 teams actively took part in the quiz from across the state of Himachal Pradesh. The top ten scoring teams in each district were chosen from the online round on the basis of the team’s performance on two parameters: The number of correct answers and the time taken to complete the quiz. Teams had to answer 30 questions in 15 minutes.
Stage 2: The on-ground event was a spectacular affair. All stops were pulled in putting together a fantastic experience for the participants and the audience.
The districts qualifiers met in two semi-finals from which the top teams met in the grand final. The on-ground quizzes were hosted by Venky Srinivasan, CEO of Nexus.
Aditya Pratap and Akshit Kumar from the Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Bassi (Bilaspur district) became the first Enviro Quiz champions beating out stiff competition from their peers.
There were loads of prizes for all the on-ground participants ranging from laptops, tablets, to mobile phones, medals and trophies. Shri Suresh Bhardwaj, Hon’ble Minister for Urban Development, Housing and Parliamentary Affairs, Himachal Pradesh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Apoorv Devgan, IAS, Member Secretary, Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board gave the welcome address.
