Vimal Kumar was the national champion in 1988 and 1989 and has represented India in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. A recipient of the Dronacharya Award, he has trained some of the top stars of Indian badminton like Saina Nehwal, P Kashyap, Trupti Murugunde, Ashwini Ponnappa and many others. He was Saina Nehwal’s coach when she became world No. 1 in 2015.
