CELEBRATING INDIA!
JANUARY 31, 2023
Indica is an annual inter-school quiz organized by Nexus Consulting on Republic Day. The first edition of the Indica Quiz was held on Republic Day in 2016 and has since been an annual fixture in the school quizzing calendar. The quiz is open to students from two age categories: Juniors – Grades 5-8 and Seniors – Grades 9-12.
For the first time since its inception, Indica was held on-ground in not one but three cities this year!
The Kollam edition of Indica 2023 took place on 21 January. The quizmaster for the event was our Content Head, Hrishikesh Varma. The quiz was held at Delhi Public School Kollam.
The Hyderabad edition of Indica 2023 took place on 22 January at The Premia Academy. The CEO and Co-Founder of Nexus Consulting, Venky Srinivasan, was the quizmaster. The quizzes in both cities were open to students in the junior category. Schools from across the state competed in a written preliminary round, and eight teams who qualified moved on to compete in the finals.
The Bangalore edition of Indica 2023, our flagship quiz, took place on 26 January at Koramangala Club. The quiz was open to children in the junior and senior categories. The top eight teams from the preliminary round qualified for the final. The quiz comprised questions on Indian history, sports, culture, entertainment, and other topics.
We were supported in this endeavour by several sponsors. FinFirst Financial Services continued to be a pillar of support for Indica for the eighth year. Tally Solutions, The Premia Academy, Atta Galatta, Fever FM, AVIT, and Malayalam Manorama also pitched in to help us make Indica 2023 a grand success.
We were delighted to have Mr Ramachandra Guha, an award-winning historian, writer, and former quizzer, as the chief guest for the prize distribution in the junior category.
Mr Guha addressed the audience and handed out prizes to the winners and finalists in the junior category.
Col. (Retd) Vembu Shankar, a Shaurya Chakra awardee, was the chief guest for the senior finals. He distributed the prizes and addressed the audience. His brother Mr VV Ramanan, a renowned quizmaster, was also present.
